Springing Forward.

Ok, so I'm taking my own advice and have gotten myself a new look. I actually like it! It's been almost a week since the haircut and I have been able to maintain it quite well. It's a little conservative for me but I have to admit it was time to retire the afro puff!! ( I do have a feeling it will be back from time to time. ) It wasn't easy letting it go but last week, when I was having pictures taken for my book promos and stuff, I decided what the heck? He's Gone.. I'm back, you know! I was tired of feeling sad, tired of looking at my tired look in the mirror. Now, I feel great and fresh and ready to face the spring.

Some people were really shocked when they saw them because I'm always so casual. My brother even joked that I looked like I was attacked by a straightening comb and a makeup bag, which, I guess, I was. It was fun, though and I admit a bit therapeutic. Because let's face it, my ego has been a bit bruised lately and I have found myself wondering if I am still vibrant and attractive (a breakup can do that to a girl). But having my hair done and my makeup applied and my picture taken was great fun and right on time because spring is the time to cleanse, to let go, and to bloom. I'm trying, y'all, to Spring Forward, get ready for my great future, and not look back.

You look like an author whose book I'd buy... sassy and sophisticated. It's not too conservative at all ... but then again, I'm a little conservative. I love it. Nothing wrong with a little change. The afro puff doesn't have to be too far away because I like that too!
